The SENSE-ational Spaces team was co-founded by two registered and licensed occupational therapists who have a passion for education. They provide presentations and continuing education opportunities for companies, schools, educators, and organizations surrounding the topics of sensory processing, trauma-based care, environmental modification, and more.

On-Demand AOTA Accredited CEU Courses

Our video on-demand AOTA accredited CEU courses allow for you to learn at your own pace on your your own terms, making it easier to balance your education with your personal and professional commitments.

Who are these courses for? Introductory- to intermediate-level pediatric OTs, COTAs, SLPs, teachers, parents, and other pediatric professionals

Duration: 3 hour course (0.3 AOTA CEUs)

In this course you will learn:

  • What is sensory processing disorder?

  • What is pediatric trauma?

  • What are ACEs?

  • How does trauma manifest?

  • What are the different attachment styles?

  • Principles of trauma informed care

  • Treatment approaches

Duration: 1 hour per course (0.1 AOTA CEU)

In this course you will learn:

  • The interconnected nature of sensory processing, regulation, and the relationship in early development and learning

  • How to create learning environments that help achieve optimal engagement and regulate their emotional arousal

  • How to identify tools and strategies in the schools to help regulate arousal levels for optimal engagement in the academic setting 

  • How to identify reasons why children with sensory processing challenges may not engage in traditional or distance learning and develop strategies including environmental modifications for academic success

  • I loved the breakdown of the senses and how each one can affect the students. I also found reading the effects of Covid on the students to be helpful.
